We are seeking an experienced Legal and Compliance Manager (m/w/d) to join our dynamic legal team. As our new colleague, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our company's compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while providing strategic legal advice across our business operations. With a focus on commercial contracts, data protection, and regulatory compliance, you will help shape our legal framework as we continue to grow. This position requires expertise in technology law, commercial contracts, and data protection regulations, combined with strong, analytical and communication skills.
What to expect
In this role, you will:
  • Lead the drafting, negotiation, and management of complex commercial agreements, including SaaS/PaaS license agreements, strategic partnership contracts, service agreements, statements of work, data processing agreements (DPAs), and NDAs, with particular focus on German and EU legal requirements
  • Providing advice and guidance on the introduction of new tech and data initiatives
  • Provide data protection support (e.g. identify internal data privacy gaps, internal syncs when new products are launched/improved) with the assistance of the external Data Protection Officer
  • Be a trusted advisor and business partner across the company by providing high quality legal, compliance and commercial advice to the business
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on all topics under the scope of regulatory compliance with an emphasis on Anti-Bribery, Export Control, Sanctions and evaluating potential legal risks
  • Monitor legislative developments in relevant compliance areas and implement new legal requirements, including in the field of AI.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain various in-house regulatory and compliance policies and procedures (including whistleblowing, anti-bribery & corruption, AML, conflict of interest, competition / antitrust, export control, etc.) to mitigate compliance risks, handling all topics in alignment with other internal units and coordinate investigations. 
Your profile in short
  • A fully qualified lawyer (Volljurist) with 3-5 years of relevant professional experience, gained either in a law firm's technology practice or in-house legal department of a technology company, with demonstrated expertise in commercial contracts, data protection law, and compliance matters
  • German law degree (Erstes and Zweites Staatsexamen) with above-average grades, and demonstrated understanding of operational and business demands in an international technology environment
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills 
  • Analytical, creative, problem solving, and business-focused personality
  • Knowledge of IT law, GDPR, and international data privacy regulations is required, with experience in software licensing and SaaS agreements being particularly valuable & data privacy law is a plus 
  • Fluent in both German and English, with excellent command of legal terminology in both languages; additional languages are a plus
